Window Shopping: A Wooden Bike, Girly Headphones, & An iPad Typewriter

Audi's Project Lab just cooked up a line of 2 wheeled heirlooms you can ride (their words not ours).  Audi in collaboration with Renovo, a bike company based in Portland Oregon, have created three human powered vehicles - the Duo City, Duo Sport, and the Duo Road - all featuring Audi logos and colors. Be surprised, the bike's frames are not metal, but instead they are crafted from wood. Our favorite is the Duo City, the ultimate commuter bicycle which promises a super smooth ride due to its ability to absorb shocks - which is great considering all the pot holes the winter weather has left behind.  The bikes all cost between $6500- $7500.

IDEA in Japan understands what ladies want, triple duty headsphones that sound great, can replace your earrings,  and use as a hair band for a quick doo fix. Awesome. Available in 3 colors. Of course we prefer gold.

I hate electronic keyboards. I like buttons I can actually push like a good old fashioned typewriter or old school push button telephone. Enter "Typescreen" a gadget that combines the functionality of an iPad with the sleek classic feel of retro typewriters. Got ya!

"Window Shopping" features gadgets and items we really like, but will never buy. Please feel free to purchase and send to us!

The Louis Vuitton iPad Case

For those of us worried about what our iPad's will wear, Louie V comes to the rescue with chic iPad cases that will be available in LV's classic Monogram or Damier Graphite design. Unfortunately, we have to wait until 2011 when these iPad protectors will hit stores for a mere $360. Until that time, I fear my iPad will have to go naked

Plink Art, A Highbrow App

Plink Art is a cell phone app made for those who could not stay awake during art history class. This magical little program allows users to identify a work of art by simply taking its photo. Not only does this app contain thousands of famous paintings in its database,  it pulls up information on the artwork, including the artist's Wikipedia pagePlink Art users can also leave digital comments, plus order prints of the viewed artwork. So next time you try to impress a date at the museum with your knowledge of fine art- you actually can! We hope this app partners with museum exhibits soon.

Wearable Art, A Halter Top Made From Tampons

Looking for something to wear while you surf on your iPad? Artist Walter Raes, creates wearable art in addition to design objects for the home out of everyday household items and industrial materials. This time it looks like he got into his girlfriend's lady things and whipped up a summer top.  A word of caution, don't wear in the rain.

Battle Of The Tablets: iPad Vs HP Slate

At the moment, everyone is buzzing about Apple's iPad but Hewlett-Packard's HP Slate is being speculated already as being the iPad killer.

HP Slate claims to provide the samefull mobile experience”,  as the iPad- but it will be powered with the Intel Atom processor and Windows 7 operating system. Like the iPad, users will be able to Browse the web, play games, view ebooks, videos, and photos with a few other additional bells and whistles including a web camera, SD card slot, USB port and supports Adobe Flash. However, this is the deal breaker for us - HP Slate has a mere 5 hour battery life in comparison to iPad’s 10 hours. The Slate will be hitting stores  June in two sizes: 32GB for US$550 and 64GB for US$600. We look forward to seeing who ultimately wins this knock down, drag it out digital battle.

Tech Maverick Norma Kamali Takes On The iPad

When it comes to broadcasting fashionable messaging via tech gadgets Norma Kamali is a true leaderThe designer will be participating in the first digital version of Interview Magazine that will be available on the iPad on April 5, 2010.  We love how Kamalli not only shows off her high end swim wear in the ad but also mixes in her Ebay and Walmart linesAll collections are viewed as equals, even if the prices are not. We love this very democratic approach to style and shopping.
