2009 is a done deal, but we decided it needed to be remembered as the year fashion brands finally embraced social media. Louis Vuitton launched their Twitter page, Gucci an iPhone app, and Burberry realized that user-generated content is the key to merging social media with fashion with their online community Art Of The Trench. Gritty Pretty PR along with Style Coalition understood this was something that needed to be celebrated so voila, we created the first annual Fashion 2.0 Social Media Awards sponsored by ideeli and Lucky magazine.
The Fashion 2.0 Social Media Awards celebrate fashion designers and brands for outstanding social media activity. Our goal is to measure the best of style influence online, and we need your help determining which brands engaged you, moved you, and inspired you to shop, dress, and think in 2009. These innovative brands were chosen for their engaging activity on a variety of social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, and blogs. The nominees were chosen by top online industry influencers, bloggers, and insiders, who were surveyed by Style Coalition and ideeli over the last 30 days.
